Senior Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Our partner is looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to develop and validate embedded software for advanced semiconductor systems.

The role focuses on firmware development, dynamic thermal management, Linux integration and hardware debugging. You will collaborate with hardware and software engineers to improve system reliability and performance.

Location: Barcelona, Spain, Hybrid

Level: Senior

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and verify embedded firmware

  • Implement dynamic thermal management (DTM) algorithms

  • Develop thermal thresholds, throttling and recovery logic

  • Optimize power, frequency and performance control

  • Support Linux drivers, PCIe and hardware integration

  • Debug firmware and system issues

  • Develop automation and CI workflows

  • Collaborate with hardware and verification teams

Requirements

  • 8+ years of firmware development experience

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics or related field

  • Strong C/C++ and embedded programming

  • Linux drivers and PCIe experience

  • Practical DTM and thermal control algorithms

  • Knowledge of DVFS, throttling and power management

  • Embedded debugging tools

  • GCC, Clang and linker knowledge

  • Python, Bash or Perl scripting

  • CI, SQA and Git/SVN

  • Strong debugging and analytical skills

  • English C1

  • RISC-V architecture

  • Processor and SoC architecture

  • Assembly programming

  • Hardware bring-up
