Senior Tax Analyst
Job Description
We are supporting an established international financial services group with a Senior Tax Analyst position to join its Tax Reporting function in Malta.
The role sits within a multinational environment and covers a broad range of tax matters, including corporate and indirect tax compliance, international taxation, transfer pricing and tax reporting.
This would suit a tax professional with solid technical foundations who is looking to take on broader responsibilities and gain exposure to international operations, strategic tax projects and senior stakeholders.
Location: Hybrid – Malta
Note: This is an urgent need and candidate to be expected onboard as soon as possible, at least before end Q4.
Responsibilities:
You will support the Group’s tax function across day-to-day compliance and reporting activities, while also contributing to wider tax projects and initiatives across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting corporate direct tax and indirect tax compliance, including VAT and withholding tax matters, across Group entities.
Assisting with tax provisioning, reporting processes and the preparation and submission of required tax documentation.
Supporting the preparation of Qualified Intermediary (QI) submissions for the US Internal Revenue Service.
Analysing tax implications arising from international operations and providing input to business and strategic decisions.
Working with internal Finance teams, external tax advisors and relevant authorities to resolve tax matters and maintain effective compliance processes.
Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation.
Contributing to tax optimisation initiatives, process improvements and broader strategic tax projects.
Supporting internal and external audits by preparing relevant tax documentation, identifying potential tax risks and helping implement practical solutions.
Keeping tax reporting and compliance processes accurate, controlled and up to date.
Requirements:
A professional accounting qualification or recognised tax qualification/diploma.
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in taxation.
Practical experience with Maltese tax matters.
Strong understanding of corporate and international tax principles.
Exposure to areas such as corporate tax compliance, transfer pricing, cross-border taxation or tax reporting within a multinational environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax matters clearly to both finance professionals and non-tax stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a structured, control-oriented approach.
High standards of integrity and professional ethics.
Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, external advisors and multidisciplinary teams.
