Head of Compliance
Job Description
On behalf of our valued client - a leading financial investment regulated company, we are looking for a Head of Compliance, to lead the Compliance Department and ensure the Company adheres to all relevant legal & regulatory requirements. The role includes developing, implementing and managing the Compliance Monitoring Program (CMP), policies and procedures, preparing reports to the Board of Directors and CySEC, and acting as a key adviser to the Executive team and the Board on compliance matters.
Location: On-site – Limassol, Cyprus
Responsibilities:
As a Head of Compliance, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP).
Provide strategic direction and leadership for compliance initiatives.
Foster a culture of compliance throughout the Company.
Create, review and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are communicated, understood and properly implemented across the Company.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Lead investigations into compliance breaches and implement corrective actions.
Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, changes and industry standards, and ensure the Company remains compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
Prepare and submit the required compliance reports to regulatory bodies, including CySEC, CBC and ICF.
Report to the Executive team and the Board of Directors on compliance matters.
Identify and assess compliance risks within the Company, and develop and implement strategies to mitigate and ideally eliminate those risks.
Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and understanding of compliance matters.
Design and deliver compliance training programmes for employees and the Board of Directors.
Requirements:
Degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance, legal or regulatory roles in an active company, not a dormant company or one waiting for licence activation.
At least 1 year in a leadership position, with more than 1 person under supervision.
CySEC Advanced Examination is mandatory. The CySEC AML Examination is considered an advantage.
Greek is not mandatory, but is considered an advantage.
In depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
Strong understanding of industry specific regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and with strict deadlines.
Familiarity with data privacy regulations and cybersecurity compliance is considered an advantage.
