Business Development Manager - Construction and Development
Job Description
Our partner is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the growth of their construction and development business by identifying new opportunities, building strong relationships, and bringing in new projects.
The role focuses on generating leads, approaching potential clients, and developing relationships with architects, developers, property owners, contractors, and other key contacts within the construction and real estate market.
The person will be selling the company’s full range of services, including full construction, finishes, project management, and wider development related services.
This position requires someone proactive, commercially minded, and confident in going out into the market. The right person should be able to work independently, manage conversations from first contact to opportunity stage, and support the company’s growth plans.
Location: Hybrid, Birkirkara
Responsibilities:
As a Business Development Manager, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Identify and approach potential clients, developers, architects, property owners, and business partners
• Generate new business opportunities within construction, finishes, project management, and development related projects
• Build and maintain long term relationships with clients and industry contacts
• Act as a key commercial contact for new business opportunities
• Understand client needs and identify how the company can support their projects through construction, finishes, project management, or wider development services
• Follow up with leads and manage opportunities from first contact to handover
• Identify sites, projects, and market opportunities with development potential
• Support the company in growing its client base and project pipeline
• Attend meetings, site visits, and industry discussions when required
• Represent the company professionally in front of clients and partners
• Work closely with internal project, operations, and management teams
• Share market feedback, client requirements, and potential opportunities with management
• Support commercial discussions and negotiations in line with company processes
• Provide regular updates on leads, meetings, opportunities, and potential deals
• Help build and improve the company’s sales and business development process
• Travel for business needs when required
Requirements:
• Previous experience in sales, business development, or a similar commercial role
• Experience within construction, real estate, development, finishes, project management, or a related industry
• Good understanding of the construction or property development market
• Ability to speak confidently with architects, developers, property owners, and business decision makers
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• Commercial awareness and ability to identify business opportunities
• Proactive approach with the ability to work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Maltese
• Willingness to attend meetings, site visits, and industry events when needed
• Existing network within construction, architecture, real estate, or development would be considered an asset
