Test Automation Engineer
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to play a key role in strengthening automated quality practices across web based applications and core backend APIs. This position suits someone who enjoys building reliable automation solutions, contributing to a shift left testing mindset, and taking responsibility for the health, scalability, and performance of automation frameworks and pipelines.

Responsibilities:
As a Test Automation Engineer, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Develop and maintain automated test solutions for API and web layers, ensuring frameworks are robust, reusable, and easy to extend
• Take an active role in embedding quality early in the development lifecycle by working closely with engineers and product stakeholders
• Implement automated test coverage that aligns with the testing pyramid, prioritising fast feedback and high business value
• Enhance and maintain CI/CD integration for automated test execution, reporting, and quality gates
• Identify gaps in existing automation and propose improvements to tooling, frameworks, and overall approach
• Collaborate with senior automation engineers and QA colleagues to improve coding standards, framework usage, and failure diagnostics
• Design and execute reliable functional and regression test suites targeting critical user journeys and backend services
• Support test data creation, environment setup, and data clean up to ensure consistent and repeatable test runs
• Contribute to effort estimation and technical discussions related to automation features and enhancements
Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years experience in test automation across APIs and or web applications
• Strong hands on experience with Postman, including collections, environments, variables, and Newman or similar tools
• Solid understanding of RESTful services, HTTP methods, and response handling
• Practical experience using TypeScript and or JavaScript for test development
• Experience with modern UI automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
• Good understanding of browser behaviour, DOM manipulation, and front end technologies including HTML and CSS
• Working knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques
Nice to have:
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
• Experience working with Git and collaborative version control workflows
• Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Java or Python
