Corporate Finance Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Finance Assistant to join our Corporate Services team. This is a role within a fast-growing start-up environment backed by a solid foundation and ambitious long-term plans. You will work across both client accounts and internal group companies, gaining exposure to a wide variety of financial, operational and corporate tasks.
The ideal candidate has a finance or accounting degree or is partly ACCA qualified, though we also welcome candidates with relevant experience who are committed to pursuing their professional qualifications. This role also includes opportunities to represent the brand externally, engage on social platforms and identify new business opportunities when they arise.
Location: Hybrid - Malta
Responsibilities:
As a Corporate Finance Assistant, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Support day-to-day bookkeeping for client companies and group entities
• Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end routines
• Help prepare basic management accounts and financial reports
• Assist with invoicing processes, accounts payable and receivable, and basic cash flow checks
• Support audit requests, tax submissions, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain well organised financial records and documentation
• Assist with payroll processing under supervision
• Help prepare statutory payroll submissions such as FS5 and FS7
• Update employee payroll information when required
• Support the team with general corporate administration and file maintenance
• Assist with company secretarial tasks including MBR filings and register updates
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, and service providers when needed
• Support onboarding of new clients from a finance and corporate perspective
• Attend occasional events or networking opportunities as part of your development
Requirements:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, OR
• Currently studying ACCA or planning to begin, OR
• Basic experience in accounting or corporate administration
• Up to 2 years experience in a similar environment is considered an asset
• Interest in payroll and willingness to learn payroll processes
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Clear communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Ability to manage simple tasks with guidance and meet basic deadlines
