Senior Accounting Advisor
Job Description
Our client is a Malta-based corporate advisory firm specialising in corporate services, accounting, tax and legal support for clients across a broad range of industries.
In this role you will be expected to manage a portfolio of clients, ensure their accounting records and statutory filings are compliant with applicable accounting standards and tax legislation, liaise with auditors and relevant authorities, support client onboarding, lead or participate in financial reporting projects, and identify opportunities for process improvements and business growth.
Location: Hybrid - Malta
Responsibilities:
As an Senior Accounting Advisor, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring a high standard of service delivery
- Ensure client accounting records are accurate and maintained in line with applicable accounting standards
- Prepare VAT returns, tax returns, and management accounts, and coordinate with auditors as required
- Organise and manage personal workflows, workloads, and deadlines efficiently
- Lead projects or ad-hoc financial reporting tasks assigned by management
- Liaise with regulatory authorities on behalf of clients when necessary
- Act as a primary point of contact for team members, reviewing their work, providing guidance, and fostering effective communication
- Support with client onboarding processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend enhancements to systems and workflows
- Spot opportunities for growth and contribute to business development initiatives
Requirements:
- ACCA qualified or holding an equivalent accounting qualification
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a client-facing accounting role, ideally within a corporate services environment
- Strong team player with a proactive mindset and excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of an additional language will be considered an asset
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS or locally accepted accounting standards
- Sound understanding of Maltese VAT and tax legislation
- Ability to work independently, handle confidential matters with integrity, and demonstrate risk awareness
