About the Role
As an Accountant at Laedan Bridge, you’ll be instrumental in delivering high-quality accounting support and financial insight to a portfolio of clients. Your role will focus on providing analysis, interpretation, and advisory perspectives that help clients maintain financial clarity, strengthen governance practices, and make well-informed decisions. You will be a key contributor to growing our accounting advisory capabilities, mentoring junior staff, and driving improvements in how we serve clients.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a trusted accounting advisor for a diverse portfolio of clients, building strong, long-term professional relationships
• Ensure accounting records, reports, and analyses are prepared accurately, aligned with applicable standards (e.g., IFRS or local GAAP), and suitable for advisory use
• Prepare, review, and analyse management accounts, VAT and tax computations, and financial summaries used in strategic discussions
• Provide guidance on financial reporting considerations, flagging potential issues and opportunities for clients
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party professionals as part of advisory engagements
• Manage client engagements efficiently, balancing priorities and deadlines with quality outcomes
• Lead ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting projects that support deeper advisory insights
• Mentor and review work prepared by junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and technical development
• Support client onboarding from an accounting and finance perspective, including understanding client structures and operational nuances
• Identify and implement improvements to internal workflows, systems, and documentation standards
• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying accounting-related advisory opportunities and client needs

Requirements
• ACCA qualification or an equivalent professional accounting qualification
• Minimum two years’ experience in a client-facing accounting or advisory role
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS or local equivalents)
• Solid understanding of Maltese VAT and tax frameworks from an analytical and reporting standpoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset
• Proactive problem-solver with strong organisational and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate sound professional judgement
