Hireroo is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel on behalf of our client, a leading player in the iGaming industry. This is an exciting position for person who is passionate about iGaming space with close Department Head on managing legal risk to organization, being responsible for legal advices to stakeholders with impact on wide range of commercial angles.

Location: Hybrid – Malta

Responsibilities:

As a Legal Counsel, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Take ownership of drafting, reviewing, and finalising a broad mix of commercial agreements - ranging from supplier and technology partnerships to brand collaborations and confidentiality arrangements.
• Act as a trusted legal advisor to various business units, delivering commercially sound guidance on operations-related matters, marketing activities, data protection, and corporate governance.
• Provide hands-on support in navigating local compliance landscapes, contributing to the company’s ability to operate smoothly across different jurisdictions.
• Serve as a point of contact for external legal advisors, helping coordinate case-specific work such as regulatory filings, license submissions, dispute resolution, or escalated legal inquiries.
• Analyse legal and operational risk scenarios, and contribute to mitigation strategies that support the business's resilience and agility.
• Help build legal awareness across the business by supporting training sessions and developing practical resources for internal teams.
• Play a supporting role in strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, by assisting with due diligence, document preparation, and deal execution.

Requirements:

• A qualified legal professional, admitted in a recognised jurisdiction, with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience gained at a respected law firm or in-house legal team.
• Strong background in drafting, reviewing, and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Industry experience in iGaming and/or exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) is highly valued.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to independently manage a varied workload and effectively prioritise under pressure.
• Comfortable stepping into new areas and leading on cross-functional legal projects from initiation to execution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess legal risks across emerging or complex business scenarios.
• A collaborative team contributor and relationship builder, capable of working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
• Commercially minded, with an understanding of how legal guidance impacts broader business operations and strategy.
• Excellent communicator, able to convey legal issues clearly and concisely to both legal and non-legal audiences.
• Brings a growth mindset and a commitment to supporting the legal and strategic success of the wider business.
