PSP Analyst
Job Description
As a Financial Accountant/Analyst, you will mainly be the first point of contact internally for all things relating to the Company’s payment service providers (PSPs), reporting to the Accounting Lead. Apart from this you will assist as necessary with any daily as well as month-end accounting tasks.
This role is a stepping stepping-stone to a wider financial partnering role. Therefore, candidates with a wide financial knowledge base and willingness to continually be challenged and excel doing so will be favoured.
Location: Hybrid / Malta
Responsibilities:
As a PSP Analyst, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Reconciling PSP transactions using the Aurum reconciliation tool.
• Verifying that PSP fees charged are in line with agreed terms.
• Uploading all PSP transactions and fees into Xero.
• Monitoring PSP balances daily, highlighting which PSPs require top-ups or withdrawals.
• Liaising with the payments team prior to new PSPs going live, clarifying Go-Live dates and commercial terms for which fees will be based on.
• Ensuring that PSPs are settling within the agreed upon time-frame.
• Be the first point of contact with the PSPs, dealing with any queries as and when required.
• Performing a reconciliation monthly of the service charge applicable on the deposits
and withdrawal.
• Assisting with any audit queries.
• Posting invoices and general book-keeping.
• Assisting in the weekly payment runs.
• Preparing bi-weekly bank balances report.
• Assisting in audits, preparation of financial statements and VAT returns.
• Assisting in daily and month-end accounting tasks.
• Preparing ad-hoc reporting as and when needed.
• Undertaking any other tasks as required by the Company from time to time.
Requirements:
• A positive can-do attitude.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting (ACCA or ACA qualification would be considered a plus).
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Excellent command of MS Excel and Google Sheets.
• An Automation mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the Aurum Reconciliation Tool and Xero would be considered a plus
